One of my most common questions, is 'What do I need to do for my trial appointment?'
It can be quite daunting to know what to do, especially if you don't wear much makeup. So I have simplified your wedding trial prep so have you looking and feeling flawless!
Even if you don't follow these steps you'll still be fine to come along as you are but if you like to be prepared then here it is!
1) Book in a day when you don't have anything happening afterwards
It's not every day you get your makeup done and even though you may want an event to show off and road test your makeup, a friends party or catch up with old friends might not be the best thing to follow your trial appointment.
Why?.. Usually this will change what you chose to have in your makeup as it now has to suit your outfit, event, or you are pushed for time. So pick a day when you don't have anything to do, or you can go out for a casual dinner with a girlfriend afterwards without any time limit or dress code so you can sit back, relax and enjoy this pre wedding pamper.
Hot Tip: Book your hair and makeup trial on the same day to get the whole picture
2) Have photos of your wedding details.
Show us your plans! Flowers, invites, venue, bridesmaids and groomsmen suits, hairstyles, jewellery and of course your dream gown!
The more we know about your wedding day the better we can understand your style and match your intended look with makeup.
3) Wear your every day makeup to the trial.
It only takes a moment to remove but It gives your makeup artist a much better idea of the style and amount of makeup you wear on a daily basis. I'm sure you can imagine, one person's idea of a smokey eye and another's can be completely different!
4) Bring some inspiration photos.
Have a look at your makeup artist's website and see if there is a makeup similar to the style you are after for your big day. Its always good to gather a few shots of other makeup artists' work as well to help your MUA understand your style, colour choices and concerns.
5) Don't be afraid to tell us if something is wrong!
Please tell us what you honestly think! Makeup isn't a tattoo, its just makeup and if you want to change anything, just say the word. A quick sweep of a cotton tip and it can all be gone. Its better to leave happy and excited. Stressed and unhappy isn't what you want to be feeling before your big day.
I hope this has helped to clear up any grey areas of the makeup trial process. During the bridal makeup appointment I can also recommend touch up products you may want or need such as a gorgeous cruelty free liquid lipstick like one Huda Beauty or maybe a vegan makeup powder from Cover FX. All my makeup is cruelty free or vegan so you can rest assured you not only look great but no harm has come to our four legged friends in the process.
Have a wonderful day! I can't wait to meet you at your wedding makeup trial
